Lasher comes to First Street to tell his story; Michael kills him, as well as two of the Talamasca agents working for Marklin George; Emaleth arrives and revives Rowan; Rowan kills her, then goes into a period of mute mourning. Lasher and Emaleth are buried under Deirdre's Oak.
Marklin's assassin kills Aaron Lightner, which brings Rowan back to life.
Marklin's assassin attempts to kill Yuri Stefano, but is killed by one of the Little People, Samuel, who then assists Yuri back to London. Samuel calls in his friend Ashlar, an ancient Taltos, to investigate Talamasca corruption.
Rowan and Michael go to London to avenge Aaron's death; they meet Ashlar, who assist them in uncovering Talamasca corruption and killing those responsible, including Stuart Gordon; Yuri returns to Talamasca to punish Marklin George and his accomplice, Tommy Monohan.
Ashlar tells Rowan and Michael his story; Rowan and Michael return to New Orleans.
Mona, pregnant with Michael's child, gives birth to the Taltos Morrigan.
Ashlar and Morrigan join together and go to Donnelaith to regenerate their species.
