The novel is so beautifully written. Woven with magnifient characters and locations, an absolute feast. The movie is just as beautiful.

 

I know there it is one of those movies that divides people in their thoughts on whether it was a good adaptation or not, but in my opinion, this is the best movie adaptation of any of Anne's novels to date. To argue that it didn't cover every single event in the novel is to lose site of the fact that it isn't a novel and when you put it to screen, you can cover only so much.

 

I didn't find it lacking at all, I just simply loved it.

 

I fell in love again with Marcel, Marie, Dolly Rose ... all of the characters. I highly recommend this story to both read and watch ... a true delight, spectacular.
