WELCOME TO ANNE RICE'S VAMPIRE CHRONICLES!
The "Vampire Chronicles" were created from curiosity and desire. Anne Rice wondered what it would be like to be a vampire, or in turn, what would a vampire have to say given the chance. So from curiosity and a short story, "Interview With The Vampire" was born and so was the beginning of many tales to follow over many years. These tales are fondly known as by many fans and avid readers as, "The Vampire Chronicles".
If you are thinking, "Just another story of blood sucking creatures of the night", you are so very wrong. Just as with any mortal, these immortal creatures are lovable, caring, thoughtful, pain feeling, interesting, exciting, educated, amazing and much, much more.
Commencing with the tale of Louis de Pointe du Lac in "Interview With The Vampire", you will find vast amounts of sympathy and love for this human he was chosen by Lestat de Lioncourt to become his companion. With the ending of Louis' tale, Lestat eagerly takes over and tells his own tale, shining a completely different light on what you think of this vampire from what Louis has told us. Lestat is cheeky, bold, exciting, lovable, thrilling, scary, breathtaking and everything else in between. From Lestat you will learn where the vampires came from and meet many of what you will come to know as "The New Orlean Vampires", though most do not reside there, but are considered so as by association with Lestat.
So if you have not as yet had the pleasure of meeting any of the vampires or other characters from the "Vampire Chronicles", I would encourage if not insist that you take a stroll around these pages to meet them and give yourself a chance to know them as many do.
